The Nielsen Homescan is now available as a free download on Google Play for Android owners. The application is designed for use in English language. It weighs in at only 10MB to download. The new Nielsen Homescan app version 1.8.16 has been updated on 2015-08-4. The Apple Store includes a very useful feature that will check if your device and iOS version are both compatible with the app. Most iPhone and iPad are compatible. unfortunately the app is not working on Sony Xperia series I have xz premium you ll need to enter the barcode manually as the scanning function is not working this is confirmed by the support so I have to go back to the scanner     Joyce Che

I m not sure what s causing the issue but as I scan the screen will go gray and nothing will work I have to close the app and re open again I lose all the items i scanned and start all over again i have not been able to scan it freezes     Jagar Mohammad

It keep telling me no internet connection My phone is connected to internet I lost all scan info cuz it didn t transmission info I don t want to do it all over again 1 fix the bug that assumed theres no internet 2 find a way to save scan items just incase it didn t submit         Claire Davis

Works really good One thing however is annoying It doesn t save scans until you submit them I usually scan why I am shopping and I had it now twice that my phone restarted and all my scans were gone It would also be nice if it showed a sum of all the scans Makes it easier to see if you really scanned everything It also would be nice to get a report of my scan as well             Andreas Weigl

The scanner is a hit or miss Sometimes it will scan everything on my counter but the item I m trying to scan I find that it times out quite quickly when I m scanning a trip It doesn t give me enough time to scan and put the groceries away like the handheld scanner did It also doesn t save if I have to stop half way through my scanning The old scanner would allow me to stop and come back to it afterwards Now that it is on my phone sometimes I have to answer a call or text when I m scanning             Helen Dang

Very nice 3 hiccups 1 when paying by ATM card it asks what type and gives credit cards as a choice 2 scanner times out when preparing next item 3 when asked for review rating it goes to the US app and states not available in your country                 Bill W

It wants to scan the bar code too fast before I can get the next item ready Sometimes freezes and then shuts down completely and if its a big order I have to restart the whole dang thing over I was getting terribly frustrated I hope this upgrade fixes it Or else I m going to request old scanner back                 I liked it but Keli Johnson

Mixed bag here Overall I like it better than the old scanner But The barcode reader is too fast I have to cover all the barcodes on the fruit veg folder or it ll just grab the first one it recognizes And it times out too quickly Since I now have to enter prices for everything from everywhere it takes more than 2 seconds to find the price on my receipt It times out and I HATE feeling pressured Fix these issues and you ll get 5 stars             Heather Macdonald

I hate that I always have to enter prices Using the old scanner I didn t have to and I m using the same stores When I mentioned it to Nielsen they said that it was up to the store which I understand However it shouldn t be different between the different tools Once a store has agreed on allowing prices automatically that should be it             Inconvenient Tamara Warner

It takes a little getting used to using However once learned it is a breeze I actually look forward to scanning everything I buy now Such a pleasure not to have to unpack groceries and then scan when some of it can actually be done in the stores themselves I would never go back to the hand held device Congratulations Nielsen                     Edwin Wesley

If these 2 issues were fixed i would rate it higher 1 fix it so i only have to transmit once a week allow it to save trips like the handheld did 2 make the barcode reader easier to use i shake a little so it is harder to get the scan on first attempt before it times out             Just 2 issues for me A Google user

Awesome Some stores require prices to be entered separate but others don t In all honesty with the rewards it is all worth it Tip for others If you are having a hard time scanning a code turn the flash on It will read better                     Glenn Esau
