The Office Lens is now available as a free download on Google Play for Android owners. The application is designed for use in English language. It weighs in at only 10MB to download. The new Office Lens app version 16.0.3819.1007 has been updated on 2015-05-26. The Apple Store includes a very useful feature that will check if your device and iOS version are both compatible with the app. Most iPhone and iPad are compatible. One of the best Scanning Apps I have had nothing but great experiences using this app Due to work I needed a reliable app that I could take quick scans of documents and be able to edit them sometimes well afterwards I ve tried other apps where it just takes a picture and you edit it after Lens just does it all for you It seems to magically know exactly what you want to scan and automatically crops the image I like how I can export to multiple formats all at once                     Jenn J

Great when it doesn t lose your photos scans on the way to OneNote For me about 20 of my scans disappear which is unacceptable even though the Office Lens app says it s synced When you consider we re capturing whiteboards documents and other important work personal stuff this is unacceptable and unreliable for serious purposes It wouldn t be a problem if it had a more accurate mechanism better failsafe checking as far as sending to Onenote or at the very very least the ability to re send stuff from the Office Lens gallery after you notice it s missing from Onenote which is still far from an ideal solution I suppose the devs could say it s the Onenote team s fault and perhaps with some validity But guess what It s still all the same company and same ecosystem at least aggressively marketed as such so BY WHATEVER MEANS it needs to work and save headaches not create them Talk to the Onenote people sacrifice a chicken just please do what you need to do And if they were to blame connectivity issues guess what Office Lens is 50 camera scanner 50 sync export app The other sync apps and those with significant syncing functions have found ways around remaining robust and error free even with connectivity issues             Matthew Shelhamer

I was a CamScanner user until they got corrupted I looked around a bit in the past looking for good PDF scanner and looks like Microsoft was paying attention to what users actually need I can link into all the Microsoft tools if I want to And they are good But I can also export easily to my Google drive and other things That makes this super useful I can also take pictures of whiteboards during a conference and do the image processing later Super thumbs up on this app                     Joseph Carpenter

2019 09 21 Office Lens captures documents and business cards very accurately 2019 01 20 Requested feature I would like OfficeLens to also be able to save business card records to a local contacts file on the Android as that is ideally where it is needed most I can do this with a somewhat kludgy Android app but the OCR capture by that app is rather error prone                     Iain Barraclough

Although this app doesn t offer the post editing that CamScanner offers it did something that neither CamScanner or Adobe Scan could manage When presented a newspaper article in two columns it recognized the columns and did OCR on each column separately rather than treating adjacent columns as if they were just one Consequently the OCR output from Lens was entirely readable whereas the outputs from CamScanner and Adobe Scan simply scanned horizontally across the page ignoring the column boundaries Further Lens made sense of a hyphen and joined the two parts of a hyphenated word into one word which neither CamScanner nor Adobe Scan could do                     Bernard Kripkee

Using it as a replacement for Camscanner It is not as feature rich as Camscanner for example post capture processing is practically non existent But for most occasions it should be fine Would request MS Office people to give it some post capture processing ability                 SHADIDUZZAMAN (AT-TADIR)

There is an option to save to PDF but you re forced to save the PDF to OneDrive where you can later retrieve it It s a pain but better than what Adobe does The problem is if your OneDrive is not accessible you can t save your file so all that time spent scanning stuff is wasted     Steven Miller

Working in the petrochemical industry around the world I use this app almost on a daily basis when scanning and printing facilities are hard to come by The app has never let me down and the quality of the PDF files it produces from my Surface Pro and Note 10 are always outstanding It s only a pity the same can t be said about the WiFi connection in some of the remote locations I find myself in Highly recommended                     stuart goffin

This is the worst app I ve ever used I went through the lengthy process of creating a PDF several pages long only to not be able to access it Every time I try to sign into my account I have to verify myself via text or email When I switch apps to get my code this one forgets all my progress in the sign in and forces me to start over There is literally no way for me to access the content I created because of this bug     Meredith Gould

Restrictive in a very MS way 20 page limit on PDFs scans so I can t scan the last 2 pages of my document Can t save to your device only their proprietary app OneDrive Can t share an attachment only a link to OneDrive Can t ever find the doc edges on the first try So many problems for an app from one of the biggest providers Much smaller companies have much better apps Of course we PAY for this one with our Office 365 subscription but I ll have to use another Too many problems     Andrew Cecka

The app is pretty slick but overly basic once you have captured your PDF For most people this app will be used to capture documents which they will then want to be able to sort through to find and this app doesn t offer any display or sort options for captured images I want to use this app as both a PDF capture and a filling u0026 retrieval system so sadly I will have to look elsewhere             Joe Lonsdale

It s the easiest way to get receipts into OneNote BUT it occasionally loses a scanned receipt Happens only when connection is lost during transfer but still They should bug check these more thoroughly I rightfully get angry when this happens as I end up paying for that missing receipt out of pocket ouch         Thomas Patton

I switched to this app because CamScanner was reported to be infected with malware I have had a nice experience so far but I still miss CamScanner The good thing about this app is that integrates very well with the Cloud service that Microsoft offers but I wish it had more color filters like the magic color that CamScanner offered and give sharper images Otherwise I recommend it as AL alternative to CamScanner             Iman Khozouee

I ve had this app over a year now and haven t had any issues knock on wood lol I love it I haven t used my computer to scan documents in forever now This app has simplified so much for me I don t have to wait for my scanner to scan several documents anymore then save them then move them to a folder etc Now I take pictures of them and save them to an email or whatever I m doing it s that freaking simple Thank you Devs This app is the best                     Kimm Greenwell

While it is excellent for taking proper photos of whiteboards it really should have a dedicated mode for PowerPoints Also the interface should be adjusted removing the swipe gesture to change modes Taking a flurry of photos of slides in my experience sometimes leads to the app switching to whiteboard mode running my photos             Joseph Patrick Umali

I downloaded this app shout a week ago for my classes in school I am in a nursing program and OH MY GOODNESS WOW OH WOW it has saved me so much time for editing photos to look neat and professional Love it One tip a few more photo style options would be great                     Aaron Schuett

this app has had it s ups and downs over the last few years when i first found office lense it changed the way i interacted with my office saving me lots of time and effort since the last update i can no longer scan documents and send them to OneDrive as a pdf it appears they are pushing users into scanning directly in OneDrive but multi page documents require a premium subscription i understand the business model but it s frustrating as a user to lose this functionality             Brandon Hyde

This application is very useful and almost always works well but occasionally has difficulty determining the borders of documents in bright light such as sunlight and occasionally mistakes thick lines in a document for the document s border If these issues were improved the application would receive a five star rating from me                 Konan Lim

What happened The Business Card functionality is unusable now First it is saving my card scans to the Documents folder for some reason not the indicated location Second I used to be able to choose a specific folder to save my card scans for instance I have a work related folder and personal folder but now that functionality is gone too Sad     Seoul Live

Did a great job scanning a book and could then save to MS Word for OCR which worked really well To get another star would have to handle scanning facing pages of book at one time as it is you scan one page at a time Also the OCR d file in Word has random images of little bits of the page mixed in in places Weird but can easily be deleted You can also save as image in pdf file at the same time as saving to MS Word Very handy Also functions such as deleting a page that wasn t captured correctly are well implemented                 Roger Hand

This is the best app to record docs invoices etc You choose the source docs whiteboard etc and then choose where to send the saved file one drive gallery etc Outstanding feature it can turn your saved files into working excel or Word files                     gato jimenez-victory

This app is SO useful The ability to turn pictures into PDF s is great and Microsoft does a great job making the writing clear on the pictures I only five 4 starts cause sometimes I have had upload issues to OneDrive but all in all it is great and so useful                 Brandon Leyva

This app always seems to have issues uploading pdfs I used it to scan some receipts for warranty documentation and half of them get stuck on waiting to transfer or just fail completely till you try again and it magically works perfect that time What should be a simple process is turned into a long drawn out battle because of this apps issue with uploading the files     N A

This USED to be my favorite app Recommended it to SO many people Was SO easy to use SO fast Now Takes forever to do what the old er version did Not sure how many upgrades ago that was Used to be just quickly line it up snap and it straightened the document out better than had it had been scanned because there was no need to line anything up Would easily pick up the edges Just like Congress you don t need to DO anything Just UNDO the MESS you already made         Dan Richter

My new favorite app I use it all the time on my phone and send to my office 365 app of choice on my laptop It helps you get straight even readable pictures and has editing tools in app Saves to one note and gives list of your notebooks so choose where it saves I use this in classes too to take pics of lectures and send thrm to myself Its a great app but i love the microsoft products                     Megan Miller

Excellent app Does a great job of turning photos into pdfs that are clear I have used it for different picture formats including png jpeg and gif My only suggestion is for microsoft to make this apps functions apart of one drive so that its a one stop shop and you can place converted photos where you want them in your drive instead of the default location Awesome app and higly recommend Thanks microsoft                     Justin Dorsey

used to be better Have been using this app for years recent updates to the app meant that there are weird bugs Ie only first capture are saved and not the post processing changing of modes and cropping are not saved it works sometimes and sometimes it only saves the first capture sometimes it saves the post processed adjusted image I save to image and gallery rather than PDF though         Sam Ng

I want to snap receipts each time I obtain 1 Then direct upload to cloud I also ask all staffs to install this app u0026 link to the same cloud In the end all receipts were collected instantly to our admin PC for archiving u0026 recording purpose Super simple super fast Easy Snap u003e Auto cropped to desired size Even if you need to readjust it was even better than any other app available                     Akhi Joe

I really love this app I had a supervisor from a disability services agency I worked for show this to us so that we could send documentation directly to our supervisors when needed as we relied on written organization there were no computers in the programs It s been so handy for so many other uses as well I use it to take pictures of my art so I can post it or send a nice pic to others 10 10                     Claire Federkeil

Image processing detecting and quality is great the only missing feature is the flash reflection on the cards If you enable taking multiple images from different corners then combine them and remove the ligh reflection                 Mohannad Hussein
